In lieu of ground improvement elements, helical piles were used to support a load transfer platform in a new building to house an MRI unit.

- Challenge/Unique Aspect: A Load Transfer platform was supported on helical piles as it was above grade. The platform was adjacent to an existing building and a no vibration pile system was mandatory. Also, mobilization utilizing small equipment to install the helicals was much less expense than for other piling options.
