The Bayshore Fire District was adding an addition and making renovations to their headquarters building. Due to the proximity to the existing building, helical piles were specified in place of timber driven piles to eliminate vibration concerns and mobilization issues. 43 Helical Piles were installed by Chesterfield Associates in 3.5 days.

- Challenge/Unique Aspect: While other manufacturers had to furnish a 4.5″ helical pipe pile to achieve the 50 ton capacity, IDEAL’s 3.5″ pipe was able to achieve the load, giving the contractor a competitive advantage with a lower cost on material. Helicals were also more easily relocated when unidentified utilities were encountered.
